about
who we are
Robertson Structural is a structural engineering firm based in Lubbock, Texas, founded by Brian Robertson, P.E. With more than 20 years in the field, the firm works at the intersection of two disciplines most engineers keep separate: construction engineering — designing structures that stand — and forensic engineering — investigating those that don't.
We serve clients across nine states: Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Tennessee, Kansas, Colorado, and Wyoming. From new construction and additions to repairs, retrofits, and failure investigations, every project gets the same thing — precise analysis, clear drawings, and engineering you can defend.
Our approach is simple: understand the problem completely, engineer the solution precisely, and communicate it clearly. Great structural engineering should be felt in the confidence it gives a client — not buried in jargon.

Brian Robertson is the founder and principal engineer of Robertson Structural. Over more than 20 years he has designed and evaluated structures in steel, concrete, masonry, cold-formed steel, and wood, spanning commercial, industrial, educational, and residential projects. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in nine states and holds an engineering degree from Texas Tech University. Brian's combined background in construction and forensic engineering shapes how he works: he designs with a practical understanding of how things get built, and investigates with the rigor of someone who understands why structures behave the way they do. He works as a design partner rather than a gatekeeper, engaging early to protect design intent and find the structural solution that serves the architecture, not the other way around. His forensic practice adds a layer most structural engineers don't offer: firsthand insight into how buildings perform over time and respond to stress, settlement, and change. That perspective informs every new design and makes Robertson Structural a strong fit for existing-conditions assessments, renovations, and adaptive reuse—supported by laser scanning and 3D documentation for accurate as-built models of complex existing structures.
